Internship Overview
Interns at NITI Aayog will have the opportunity to work across various Verticals, Divisions, and Units. This experience is designed to support analysis within NITI Aayog by enabling interns to engage in data collection, research, and in-depth analysis. This exposure to the workings of the Indian Government is particularly beneficial for those looking to further their interests in public policy and governance.
Application Window: The application link is active from the 1st to the 10th of each month. Each candidate may apply for an internship only once per financial year.
Internship Availability: Internships are available from January to June 2025, with the flexibility to choose the month that best fits the candidate’s schedule.
Eligibility Criteria
Eligible candidates must be bonafide students of any recognized university or institution, either within India or abroad. Specific criteria include:
- Undergraduate Students: Should have completed or appeared in the second year/fourth semester of their bachelor’s degree with at least 85% marks in their 12th class.
- Postgraduate Students: Should have completed or appeared in the first year/second semester of their postgraduate program or be pursuing research/Ph.D., with a minimum of 70% in their graduation.
- Recent Graduates: Students who have recently completed their graduation or post-graduation may also apply if:
- They scored 70% or more cumulatively in all years/semesters.
- The time gap between their final exam results and the chosen internship month does not exceed six months (e.g., results declared in June would allow for internship applications until December).
Internship Duration
The NITI Aayog internship lasts between six weeks and six months. Interns must complete the entire duration of their internship to be eligible for a certificate.

- Certification: A completion certificate will be issued by the Adviser of the concerned Subject Division upon successful completion of the internship.
